Will is 10 months old!

So I have been trying for a few days to capture a good photo of the boy for his 10 months snapshot. No such luck. Seriously! Luckily his babysitter captured this one during our first-date-night-that-a-non-grandparent-watched-Will night. I think he looks super cute.

We spent 4th of July weekend in Greensboro with the Abers and Liza and the kids. It was a fun time. On Saturday, Mr. Aber drove his Model T in a parade in Jamestown, NC. Liza and the kids drove with him; Will and I drove in another Model T driven by Mr. Aber's friend. We had to throw candy out the window (read: I threw candy out the window) and Will was waving at everyone (read: Will was dead tired as it was during naptime, so I waved is hands for him. Everyone still thought he was super cute, though). Tomorrow, Jaosn, Will and I are driving up to Pittsburgh to visit with all the Abers. Jason's twin cousins are turning and they graduated High School, so we are going up to celebrate. Also, this will be the first time Jason's family get to meet Will. Should be a fun, albeit, short visit. We drive back on Sunday.

Will's 10 month update:

  • Will finished his last swim class for a while. Apparently there is not a level 3 class for infants as it jumps right to toddlers, so we need to wait a few months for him to be walking and such.

  • He is crawling like a champ. He likes to be chased, so he will do peep-a-boo and then start off crawling really fast, then stops to make sure you are chasing him, then he continues to crawl away. Ha!

  • He is getting really good at standing and walking around furniture. He is standing on his own, but for only 15 seconds or so. Seems to stand longer and longer at times.

  • He LOVES walking. No, he is not walking on his own yet, but he will walk behind anything that moves and laughs the whole way. I know people say "you want them to put off walking for as long as possible", but he moves into the Toddler room at school a week after his birthday and it seems the "non-walkers" are chum in the water for the older walking kids. Literally as the "non-walkers" seem to be the kids who are constantly biten by the others. Not cool! Since he is tall, I am hoping he is walking a little bit, so he can stand up for himself. Personally, I think he should go with jailhouse yard rules and on the first day, crawl up to the biggest kid and beat the crap out of him. THEN what toddler is going to mess with him? Seriously!!
  • Will also got his first pair of real shoes. He seems to like them as he keeps them on, most of the time, but he does like to bite at them when given the chance.

  • He is eating well. He has been eating mostly menu food at school and they sometimes supplements with baby food, if he does not like something. He is pretty much a starch-o-holic, but eh, at least he is eating, right. He will eat blueberries and grapes like it's his job at times, so that's good.

  • Sign Language: He is understanding it a bit more and actually signed "Milk" the other day. Also, when he had ice cream at school, he signed for "more", so he is starting t oslowly get the hang of it. I think it will be really helpful since he is still pretty non-verbal besides, his "dada", "mama", "nana" and other sounds he is still making.
  • Lastly, his incisors are cutting through. This will make 10 teeth total. Yikes! He teethes like a champ, so it has not been a problem, except for his crazy runny nose and little cough that comes from it. But with many teeth comes great responsibility, so "he" brushes his teeth twice a day. HE actually loves doing it. I think the "brush" feels nice on his gums, but he crawls right over and opens his mouth when it is time. Too cute!
