Will's First Trip to the Dentist

Will's first appointmenty went very well! My appointment was at 8 and Jason’s was at 9, so the hygenist suggested he come in early with Will so he could watch her “brush” my teeth.  She showed him the instruments and was tlaking to him while she worked on me. She was very big on him not being scared, so we tried to make it fun. When I was done, Jason got in the chair with Will on his lap. Will let her look at his teeth and did “ahhhh” after some prodding…and three stickers and a special coin to get a prize afterward (more on the coin later…).
Then the dentist came in and said his teeth looks great and he has all of his baby teeth. So, I guess he is not teething at the moment. He said Will has some nice space between his teeth, which is good for his permanent teeth. He followed that up with music to Jason’s ears, “so I won’t have you saving $100 a month for braces just yet…”

When he was done, Will and I went to the front desk to make our next appointment. Mr. Charmer not only got his “surprise ring” traded in for a rub-on tattoo, he also got another coin to get something else. “LL Cool W” = Ladies Love Cool Will…

Funny story about the first coin. Once she gave it to him, he went to put it in his ear. This was new to us. Then I remembered a magician visited his daycare last week. When I dropped him off, I asked the teachers if the magician took coins from the kids ears and they laughed and said yes. Funny how he remembered that. Note to us: don’t let him play with coins…

All in all, the Aber Family is cavity-free and Will’s first dentist experience was a good one - just look at his pearly whites!!
